Mark your Calendar: The 2013 WPEF Science and Management Workshop

The 2013 Annual Science Meeting of the Whitebark Pine Ecosystem Foundation is scheduled for September 20 in the bustling town of Bozeman, Montana, USA. Bozeman is central to many restoration projects going on in whitebark pine in the northern Rockies. This meeting is somewhat special in that will be co-sponsored by the Northern Rockies Fire Science Network (http://nrfirescience.org/). This is the first time that the WPEF has a co-sponsor for their scientific meetings and we look forward to a productive collaboration. The conference will be at Montana State University on Friday, September 20 and is tentatively named: “Challenges in Whitebark pine restoration: fire, wilderness, bears, and lynx”. A one day field trip is scheduled for the next day Saturday Sept 21 to visit whitebark pine forest sites around Bozeman and hear from local experts. Please contact Bob Keane (rkeane@fs.fed.us), program chair, if you wish to give a presentation or present a poster. We hope to see you there for an exciting scientific exchange.
